Dear Folks,

In the past we have sent out the Polish American Society's newsletter from our email address to your email address. In order to save time sending it out in the future we are using a package called Zoho. We already sent out two versions of this week's newsletter, one on Oct 28 & the other on Oct 30. If you received them, GREAT! If you did not receive them, look into your junk mail or spam and tell your system it is not junk or spam. The newsletter will be sent From: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and the Oct 28 was "Subject: Polish American Society News & Events". The newsletter sent  on Oct 30 had a "Subject: Polish American Society of St Petersburg: Sunday Dinner & Dances start this Sunday, Nov 5!"

Admission is FREE for the Dance on Oct 5th.

Call either Wilma Walsek at 727-360-0584 or Alice Kohler at 301-639-8553 for dinner reservations for the Polish Dinner as soon as you are able.
Following is the old version of this week's newsletter.
Hope to see you on Sunday.
    Don & Alice Kohler

"Results From Our Most Recent Club  Meeting"

Due to the increase of the cost of food, your Board of Directors voted to increase the cost of our dinners to $12 for members and $14 for non-members beginning Nov 5. This includes the "dinner, dessert and coffee".
We decided to maintain our current admission cost at $6 for members and $8 for non-members.
We decided to maintain our yearly membership cost at $25 per person.

We continue to depend on our Booster Club donations to offset the increase of other costs. Thank you so much to those who have increased their Booster donations in recent years!

We continue to need volunteers to help with the cleaning after the Sunday dinners and dances.  Please contact Alice Kohler at 301-639-8553.

"Please Keep The Following Club Members & Their Families
                                         In Your Thoughts And Prayers"
            ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edward Kimak, a long time club member and faithful attendee for many years passed away on Sep 5, 2023. Ed's funeral was in Northampton, PA on Sep12. Alice and I were able to attend the Mass, the interment with military honors and the reception at the Hungarian Club. In addition to Ed's family members we were able to meet with Frank Dulmovitz & Ginny Scrapits who used to be frequent attendees at our club, but no longer come to FL for the Winter months. We also spent time with Gloria Smolick who was an active member of the club and helped in the kitchen for many years.  I will never forget the assistance that Ed provided relative to using a scaffle when we painted the interior of our club 15 years ago. He also helped with other maintenance aspects over the years. We want to keep the Kimak family in our thoughts and prayers.

Many of you remember members, Ed & Joan Rygula. For many years Ed & Joan, would visit their daughter in the Lakewood area for about a month and drive to St Petersburg for our Sunday dinners and dances. They were unable to come to Florida for several years and Joan passed away on June 3,2023 after suffering from her illness for sometime. We want to keep Ed & the Rygula  family in our thoughts and prayers.

Joe Tinsley,a member of the St Petersburg Polish American Society Club for nearly 20 years suddenly passed away on April 13th. Joe,and his good friend of 20 years, Hedy Krall, had reserved seats at the Club for all of these years next to the dance floor. Joe will be greatly missed by all of us. In his younger days, he was always an active worker at our Club Volunteer Cleanup Days. We will miss the friendly and genuine person of Joe TinsleyI would like to add that Joe and I, Don Kohler, had a special relationship as we worked on the same satellite project at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland during the 1980's. We want to keep Hedy and the Tinsley family in our thoughts and prayers.

Elizabeth (Betty) Cichowski, passed away on May 1, 2023. She was 95 years old. Betty was the mother of Ken Cichowski, our Polish American Society's Treasurer for many years and served the Club faithfully in many other ways also. Betty loved to travel and she also lived in various places over the years. One of her favorite places was at The Point in Cape May, NJ. We want to keep Ken, and his son, John, in our thoughts and prayers
